Lens Hood for WD-H43 and Raynox 6600 on HV30

Posted on 8/9/2007 12:24:00 AM

Finally, I got myself a lens hood for the wide angle lens adapter WD-H43. It also works well with Raynox wide angle lens 6600 too!

I recently bought the Canon XH-A1 and the WD-H72 Wide Angle lens adapter. So this is the original lens hood from the XH-A1. It's a little loose, so I put a doubleside tape around. Then it fits really tight with the screw on the lower left of the hood.

You can order this lens hood here.

The lens hood is proofed to be effective in blocking glare.

Thanks Monyx at hv20.com for this video.

Customer DJN also sent us a note on how to attach this lens hood to a smaller size lens.

Thanks!

Replied by LA Color Pros This particular bracket rocks. It has 3 accessory shoes. You can buy from us here

Posted by Hector on 7/3/2009 1:58:00 AM Will I get vignette with the Canon wide angle lens?

Replied by LA Color Pros No it won't show any vignetting at all. In fact, I have included a YouTube video you can view there would not be any vignetting.
Posted by Michael on 8/17/2009 3:22:00 PM does the hood get in the way of the AIfocus sensor

Thanks in advance

Replied by LA Color Pros Not the hood itself will get in the way of the Instant Auto Focus Sensor, your wide angle lens already blocked it. When using any lens attachment, you will need to change the settings from IAF to Normal AF.
Posted by Corey Morrison on 12/27/2009 10:31:00 PM Will this work with the Pearstone 0.7x wide angle lens? I will buy several right now if you're sure it will work. Thanks

Replied by LA Color Pros This lens hood works for any lens attachment with 53mm front diameter. You can just measure you rwide angle lens front diameter if it's 53mm in diameter to see if this hood will fit.

Posted by Andrew on 5/21/2010 10:07:00 PM I can't tell from the photos where you used the double-sided tape. Just ordered the lens hood for my WD-43 and it doesn't fit on the lens.

Replied by LA Color Pros Andrew, this lens hood require DIY effort. You can use the foam type double-sided tapes or something called "Magic Wrap" that you can buy at Home Depot.
